With her family involved in the racing industry, Lauren has always loved racing fashion. Lauren began designing and making hats for the races in 2008, and with a love for beading and all things lace, she started to create pieces for brides and their mothers. At the same time, Lauren undertook a four week workshop with Louise Macdonald, and decided to pursue her passion after being accepted to complete her certificate IV in Millinery.
Learning techniques from esteemed milliners Paris Kyne, Serena Lindeman and Melissa Jackson, Lauren went on to graduate in 2012 and has commenced her career in Millinery as a member of the Australian Millinery Association.
Since graduating Lauren has been involved in L’Oreal fashion week Masters and Apprentices show with Alex Perry, and Melbourne Spring Fashion Week Hats off to Melbourne where she won the best Millinery display award.
Specialising in couture structural wirework and beaded hats and headpieces, Lauren’s work is inspired by the detail from bygone eras combined with the shapes of modern architecture. Ranging from Bridal headpieces, Mother of the bride headwear and Hats for racing season, Lauren designs both bespoke and ready to wear pieces.
